Food Pantry at Maple Springs Methodist Church

Our donations to the food pantry

Pinch and I have all kinds of wonderful ideas. We discuss things and sometimes our bright ideas work out. We have been talking and planning to do a donation with some of the products that we have gotten by using coupons. Well.....at our first coupon class, my cousin Jane told us about the food pantry at Maple Springs Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. Some people may call it the Pumpkin Church. You know the church on Reynolda Road that has the yard full of pumpkins in the fall for sale? That would be the one! How many of us have bought pumpkins there? Me, Me, Me!

Okay back on track. We gathered up our products from the famous stockpile (that we both have) and took them to the church today. The food pantry is open each week on Tuesday and Wednesday. We were only a day late but we got our things there! We really were not late as we had to do one last shopping trip last night to take advantage of Super Doubles at Harris Teeter and of course run by Walgreens to add to our bags of things to donate. I believe we had four bags between us for this donation. The above pictures show you what we took. (I love seeing pictures.) We met one of the volunteers from the church and stayed just long enough to put out what we had brought. She was soooo nice and appreciative. We are hoping to be able to donate at least once a month to other food pantries or organizations.

We are only two people with families of our own with limited incomes. We hope we can make a difference in other people's lives by shopping with coupons. Come on, everybody knows it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside if you can help others. We do offer our classes to teach you or your organization to do what we do. Believe me it just takes a little time to get the hang of it.

If you are interested or have any questions drop us an email, we will be glad to offer any assistance or answer any questions that you may have.

One thing you will learn about me is I can talk forever........."I do wish we could chat longer, but I'm having an old friend for dinner."
